How to Bring Up Being Exclusive with a Man:

When you’re dating a great man for a few months, you may feel like it’s time for you to be exclusive with him. But, if he’s never broached the subject with you, then you may be too nervous to bring it up to him.

So, how can you bring up being exclusive with him without scaring him away?

  • It’s All About Timing

Make sure he’s in the right frame of mind. You never want to bring up the topic after a hard day at work or right after you’ve had sex. Neither of those times are a good time to bring up being exclusive with him.

  • Do it in Person

Never bring up being exclusive over the phone or text. This is an important conversation that should be done in person.

  • Let Him Know, It’s Important to You

It’s important for him to know that this is something that is very important to you

  • Never Give Him an Ultimatum!

If you give him an ultimatum, you’re just setting yourself up for disaster and it may just scare him away.

  • It’s About What You Both Want!

Just remember, while you may want to be exclusive, it’s really about what you both want.

  • It’s a Conversation

It should be a conversation between you both.  You need to listen to what he has to say, instead of just telling him what you want.

At the end of the day, just remember it’s about what you both want. If he tells you he’s not ready, that one thing…but, if he tells you that he doesn’t want to be exclusive, it may be time to move on.
